From April to June 2019, we secured permission for the conversion of an office building to flats, as well as extensions to increase its size and an additional new dwelling on our client’s site in Chesham, Buckinghamshire.
The planning challenge was to establish the principle of the loss of the commercial office space and to maximise the new residential floorspace that can be created through both conversion and new build.
We overcame this challenge through a sequential approach to the development proposals making sure each application is acceptable and can be granted permission.
We also worked to deliver schemes that were consistent with each other and can be built out simultaneously, maximising the value and minimising the build time for our client. A great result.
